I am not a fan of Stefani O Joanne Angelina Germanotta aka Lady Gaga. I don’t even listen to or watch the kind of music/videos she creates. However, my views about her changed after I read her story recently. I kind of had respect and admiration for her.
She was physically abused when she was only nineteen. The mental and physical torture she went through changed her entire life. She was a normal girl living happily with her younger sister in a normal family with her father working in an internet company and mother as an ordinary worker in a telecom company. She had no regrets as her parents had given her the freedom to live her life as per her own choice.
She got a piano
Gaga got a piano as a surprise gift for her thirteenth birthday from her father. It was a real joy for her as Baby Gaga really loved music more than her studies at school. She wrote her first song at the age of thirteen and by the time she was 14 she had started singing for a music club. She also played the role of a naughty girl in a TV serial “The Sopranos” in 2001. Her performance was nothing sort of memorable as she was only in the 9th episode of season 3. She was 15 years old. Even though her role was short, it gave her ideas on what she is going to do in the future.
At the age of 17, Lady gaga joined Tisch School of the Arts, New York. Her school mates did not like Gaga’s look as they thought she had an awkward long nose and was fat. She had no friends in school. However, she succeeded in touching new heights in her musical career and managed to release albums at regular intervals.
She loved music right from her childhood
In the article I read, Stefani O Joanne Angelina Germanotta now Lady Gaga looked back at her life and explained how she felt when she used to hear piano during morning prayers and music sessions in her school and she absolutely loved the sound of the instrument. She said she even insisted on her father to buy a piano for her personal use but he always smiled off her request for lack of money. She did not give up her desire but managed to learn how to play piano in her school itself.
But it was that ugly incident of rape by a person from the music industry itself that changed her life forever. She kept that secret to herself for a long time but that changed her lifestyle. She wanted to cry but she was supported by her mother during her difficult time. Now she feels one should not hide his or her pain but face their difficult times boldly.
A lot of people face fall into difficult situations, however, not everyone can survive. The moral of Gaga’s story: One should face life and its difficulties no matter what happened in your past.
